OOC | Season 4 of FNL and Verse thoughts

So, I just managed to catch up on Season 4 of FNL after lagging behind a few weeks and sending Tim quiet on me while I had the chance to decide whether to incorporate his Season 4 canon into his main verse or not.

Because Tim is still in Dillon right now while everyone else has upped sticks to Austin, I think I'm going to, especially in light of episode 4x07. The only thing I'm leaving out is Lyla's return to Dillon. As far as I'm concerned, I don't need for that to have happened in Tim's main verse. I'm not keen on the Tim/Lyla ship and I like writing him better when she isn't a factor because, IMHO, she tends to suck his interesting characteristics out of him and make him bland. Call it creative muse licence. She is part of his past, not his present, and to be honest, nothing really eventuated on her return anyway, so it's all good.

However, I love the idea of Tim getting a dog (Skeeter) and the fact it looks like he stumbled across some land he is going to want to buy. The idea of Tim owning land in Dillon and owning a dog is just highly appealling for me. It fits him, and shows a little that he is trying to grow up and forge a path for himself which he has previously been lost to (or swallowed by Lyla, pun intended).

Tim will eventually integrate back into his main verse, but I'm not sure I can see him living in Austin. He isn't anymore a city lad than I am an English lad (Alba gu bràth - Scotland Forever, and all that). There will probably need to be some tweaking of the logistics of various things, but at least everyone is still in Texas. It's workable. I am just really loving what his canon is doing with him right now after basically sucking him dry in Season 3. I'd like to explore that a little and get into his head with it. Luckily, where the new season picks up, it slots nicely with what was all constructed by my amazing fellow FNL muns who I love to pieces. Tim is still in Dillon in the main verse, and also in canon. It's worked out well and there's a clean slate there for me to cross his canon over with what the other bunch are up to in Austin.

In saying all this, if they hook him up with the 14 year old beauty queen, canon can kiss my pale Scottish arse and I'll re-work him all over again. But for now, lets just go with him getting a new sidekick in Skeeter and having a keen interest in purchasing the land he discovered. He has needed a chance to clean up his act, and this is probably it.
